I started my online career exactly like this. I joined for free, filled the sign-up form, build my first website, did the “Get Started Here” certification course and didn’t spend a single dollar.

Due to thousands of users online form all over the world, there is always someone around to give you an answer or suggestion where you can find the answer within a lesson, a video or a user made training. There are thousands of pieces of training available and more added daily.
If you are looking for copious briefings you can research every topic, within the affiliated website business, in the search bar on top of every post.

For a beginner, the training on how to build a website and get it seen by the public is totally essential. I have never experienced and also not heard of a better training than the one provided by Wealthy Affiliate.
The style of learning by doing is a style I think is very applicable to website building due to doing everything on the computer at the same time.

The keyword research tool
A tool you will need to use every time you launch a new post or page is the keyword tool, it is the most important tool for producing a good website that gets ranked and can be found on the internet.
From the beginning when I started here at WA there was always the very efficient WA keyword tool, now it is Jaaxy.
When you start a new post or a blog you first want to find a title, that is being searched for but still has low a competition from the other millions of websites in the net.
The Jaaxy keyword research tool provides accurate numbers of searches per month, the possible number of clicks you could get if you reach page one in search results and the QSR, which means the number of competing posts with the same title/keyword.
Another important information the tool provides is the grade of the article power, it is a rate from 0 to 100 and if you have an article power over 80 you have found a good keyword that has the potential for ranking high in Google search and Yahoo or Bing.
Now in December of 2017, Kyle and Carson decided to share their commercial keyword tool, Jaaxy, with all WA premium members for free use.
The tool is sold on the open market for $49.00 a month but with less than a $30.00 premium membership with WA, you get the whole package for free.

The website and Hosting tool is essential for working on a website. Every website host, like Host Gator or many others, have to provide this tool. Here in WA, I find it very easy and efficient working with this tool. You have the
Site Manager: Login button, see site health, see new comments, see index status, see the number of posts, pages, comments all on one click.
Site Builder: Build a website within seconds on a free domain, on a domain you own or register a new domain. You can also easily import existing domains and websites.
Site Domains: See all of your domains, search for available domain names, transfer domains to WA host and point outside domains to WA to work from here.
Site Content Dashboard: Where you can create your content safely with autosave and grammar correction and duplicate check. New, 1’000’000 royalty free pics for your website.
From here you insert the content directly into your WordPress website and it is published. Site content also offers a privacy policy template and more, you can create your own templates for different post types.
Site Comments: A good website has traffic and gets comments, here in the site comment section you can share comments with other WA users. Google loves and ranks meaningful comments.
Site Feedback: Find out what other website creators think of your website. Get feedback on the general impression your site makes to others or more detailed feedback on the content or optical criteria.
Site Support: Last but not least you find the site support here. As I mentioned before, the support is fast and efficient.
Then you have the Link tracking tool, I haven’t used that one yet. With this tool, you can track the numbers of clicks you get on certain posts, the search traffic.
I do this with Google Search Console, which I think is more important and should be checked every day.
Within the training for building your website, you will get to lessons, that are also good tools to get traffic and publicity to your website.
The share comment site for example, here you can also share comments to your posts/pages with other WA members. Or the Social medium share site, where people join each other’s social media and give likes, G+es and FB follow etc.
My own success story at WA, Big for me, maybe nothing for you
As I started here I was a total stranger to the topic of affiliate marketing or even SEO website creation, Google rank, site index and so on. Quickly I started to realize that making a website is not only having one and adding content to it. There is a lot more to that.
First I was so excited and also wanted to get WA affiliate marketer and help other interested people how to make websites and get traffic.
I soon realized that it was a bit early for that and thought of a niche that I was more knowledgeable off, interested in, and could help others with producing interesting content.
I chose “Exploring real Thailand” as my first niche. For many years I lived in Thailand as an expat and I love the country and it gives me a lot of pleasure to learn more about Thailand and see more places.
I worked hard, wrote a lot of posts, researched many keywords but slowly had to realize that there are just not that many people actually interested in this topic.
Now I have some posts that are in the first place on page one in Google search but only a few people are looking for them.
What does it help to have a great website with tons of content but only very few people are interested in it.
I also found that selling products related to the niche is rather hard. If people find my website, they are not actually looking for something to buy but want to look at pictures and read about Thailand.
I then, about at the end of May 2017, started my second website project, the flip-flop-hit site.
This is a better starting point, as to when people open a flip-flop website they are probably looking for something they want to buy.
The site launched well, I already knew much more about how to make a website and achieved my first sell after only a month.
The problem started after I wrote some ten or more reviews on flip-flops and realized that writing long and helpful reviews about hundreds of different flip-flops without having duplicate content is actually very hard.
Furthermore, flip-flops are more or less cheap products and you will have to sell a ton to get the money needed for living.
One more handicap was, posting keyword posts with names of products sold by Amazon, you will always have a great number of paid posts above you, posts launched by Amazon themselves.
They can afford to pay for publishing on the first page of Google search and people willing to buy, not tend to look much further after they found what they are looking for.
I am improving and learn more important facts every day.
I will not ditch my two existing websites, they will grow to be more authority sites and sales will increase.
The nice thing about having a website is, it never dies. It might be unintended and therefore not grow but it does not die, you can always get more value to it and that value stays as long as the internet will be around.
I must admit, the mistakes I made were absolutely my own fault, I didn’t follow WA’s advises properly.
It is said to choose a not too broad niche, I chose Thailand, tourism, which is very broad after all and I also didn’t do a proper research on the niche for public interest and possible audience, the market research is an important part of the affiliate marketing business. (Find a great niche).
Another mistake I made and was warned about was with the flip-flop site. My niche, where products are sold for a low price, leaves me with very little commissions.
No reoccurring commissions and if you think, shoes are something one should try first before ordering and budget flip-flops are probably the most sold items in this branch and they are sold in shops around the corner.
I will be successful though with the flip-flop-hit brand as it is unique. I just have to concentrate on quality flips in the higher price segment and help people searching for special need flip-flops. I will recommend the best products on the market.

Sometimes it is hard to realize the importance of details taught in the lessons but believe me, Kyle and Carson know what they talk about. They often come across very easy, even playful but most of their statements are very meaningful and should be put into action.
You can make more money from WA than what you pay
Wealthy Affiliate lets you join their affiliate program from the day you start. This program is probably the best affiliate program on the market. The commissions that are paid out are unseen in comparable programs and led me too creating this website.
Almost 50% of all earnings WA makes go to the affiliates. You can live off only 50 referred premium join up’s. A monthly income of $1175.00 from only 50 referred Premium Members is possible.
Getting an authority in the website marketing niche is an interesting thing and comes along automatically with building your website here in WA.

No, Chain Letter Scams don’t involve any products, just the fee to join in is generating money.
Wealthy Affiliate is a legit and precious product. Not only am I selling a very good product here which provides potential customers with the best tools and knowledge and community as long as they are members but they will actually go away from here with a great increase of value and knowledge.
There are loads of products involved in selling the premium member package of Wealthy Affiliate. First, there are the lessons, the knowledge gained can be used for life, anywhere anyone would like.
Second, the websites produced here on WA can be taken out and be hosted on any host of choice. Every member is free to leave, not continue paying the fees, and can independently enjoy his online journey.
The Wealthy Affiliate program does not concentrate only on selling and promoting itself. It is a given possibility to do so but in the end to know how to create and maintain a successful online business is the main advantage of joining the WA program.

- To be successful you need to be consistent, hard-working and focusing. WA will not make you have an online business without your own effort.
- The Keyword search tool shows good-looking results that are useless. You need to follow the exact instructions and learn the criteria to choose a right keyword.
- The niche research and market research is left out a bit. It is a very important component for creating a good online business but there you might have to get more help on the internet. My site here will, and many other free websites go deeper into this topic.
- If you are a total beginner you will probably not be able to earn a lot of money for the first 6 months. The place to make a quick dollar is not here, Here you build a domain, a business, a real estate as Kyle calls it, that will ensure you a good income for the future.
- You will have to get a premium member sooner or later to get the advantage of all the content of the program. It will cost you money, optimally less than a dollar a day if you pay yearly.

Hi Frank, Pyramid schemes are organizations, where one person is on top and gets a percentage of everyone below. The same is for the persons below, they get percentages from people more below and have to share with the one above etc.
At the bottom of the pyramid where most people are they will have to share their profit with everyone above.
I prefer the systems where there are fixed, defined commissions and everyone gets the same.

May I suggest with your flip flop site that maybe you could review storage options for them. At least they will be more expensive. May help.
I know it’s hard not to duplicate content. But yeah don’t ditch the sites their authority will grow and you will get money coming in from them.
I only have one site at the moment but when my site is making quite a bit of money then I will start on another one. I already have an idea in mind. And it’s a site where people are ready to buy.

Yes, I have three websites and I’m going to make my fourth very soon. I do this job as a full-time job, 8-12 hours a day. Website making is my business and I am fully committed. Thank’s for the circumstances I can afford to work full-time on this but I think it is also essential for being successful to spend a lot of time in whatever you want to achieve.

This was quite a thorough article. I started at Wealthy Affiliate in October 2017 and it has been one interesting ride ever. I write about what I care about and it lets me pursue my passion. I have not made any money as of yet, but I understand that getting search engine traffic to my website is a long term game. Nothing happens over night, not even affiliate marketing. It is still early, but I am expecting good things to happen.
However, once you get a site going, it is residual income. People do not stop coming to your site, because it is based on organic search engine traffic. It is better than a pension program offered by any other career or job in life. You will patting yourself on the back once you get a solid site set up. I encourage anyone reading this to take the risk and go for it. It is worth it.

You are well thought not to be disappointed for having to be patient. My eight-month-old Thailand website is now slowly getting better positioned.
The fact of a lucrative website being a super pension is what I tell my wife all the time too. She doesn’t always understand how I can spend all my time on something that doesn’t really make money yet.
Yesterday I tried to explain to her if I was building a house all by my self, and for the first time, it would probably also take a long time to move in and the quality of my building skills would get better with time. Website building is the same, first, you have to learn all the techniques and second, when building alone you will have to work many hours at getting something up and going.

I have heard of wealthy affiliate before but I have seen loads of reviews about them that they seem too good to be true, Are They?
Hi Matthew, too good to be true, I don’t think so, WA is just almost perfect. Kyle and Carson have invested many years into this project and share all their knowledge and experience. If other successful website builders would do the same, they would have similar successful programs and would get a bigger slice of the market as well. Too bad most of these comparable program providers are not willing to spend as much time and effort for creating as good or even better programs as Wealthy Affiliates.
No problem, we found it and Kyle and Carson are probably happy too to have the best and unbeaten product in the world.
For sure there must be some bad talking, some jealousness, that only means WA does something right, right?

Wealthy Affiliate is really one of the best places to learn internet marketing. There is certainly a lot of information there. There are a lot of online programs that just teach you rehashed or outdated techniques for affiliate marketing.
I have been with them since 2009 and have to say they have certainly kept up with the times. It was drastically different back in 2009. I really like the web hosting where you can host 25 sites there for about the same cost of a VPS server per year.
They do use Amazon Cloud which is the fastest cloud hosting. Overall, it’s a great community with a lot of value for anyone that is serious about making money online.

Anything that we do in life , we have to put work in to it. Rome wasn’t built in a day as the old saying goes. You get out of it what you put into it.
I am new with WA , but I am very pleased with it. I have yet to see anything like it. And yes, I have tried many online business sites. Not only did they require a fee, but you had to PAY for tools from other sites as well.
I hope to eventually have more than one site as well, but as for now I will stick to just one. I am completely new to being a part of a legitimate business and I want continue getting educated and building my first site so that I know what I am doing when I start my second.

I think you have given a very honest review of Wealthy Affiliate here. I started with them a couple of years ago and I have no regrets.
What you say about consistency is very important! One of the main things that I have learned is that you need to work hard. If you don’t put the effort in, then you stand no chance of reaching your online goals!
Work hard and publish content on a regular basis just like WA shows you and you will eventually start to see the benefits.

It’s great to hear your own experiences of your site building progress and learnings. I too have joined wealthy affiliates, and only been doing this for a few months, but I agree wholeheartedly with your post, it takes consistency and follow the lessons.
This makes a big difference to your own progress. I also love that I can ask a question and have some responses in such a short period of time.
There is much support within the community and if you are looking at making money online, it’s definitely there to be made, perhaps not fast money, but, with some ingenuity, research and being open to learning we can all get there.

You have probably already experienced the huge amount of training material to be worked through. Many beginners say it is overwhelming, but there is no time pressure.
If one does the lessons step by step from the first word to the last task it is not that hard. The daily steps are rather small ones and I at least was running far too fast the first time.
The open community, questions and statements and everything someone wants to say is unique in the world. I think this is one of the things that makes the Wealthy Affiliate program stand out above all others.
It is a great feeling to know one is one of a big group with the same interest, no jealousy and no competition amongst the members. Everybody is helping everybody.

I also love love your Flip Flop site and you do have something there for sure. Did you know there is a book called the “Flip Flop CEO” and it is about MLM and is an awesome short read. My point is you are so right to keep it as a Flip Flop ( my favs) does not always have to be about shoes. Great post, thank you.

This is a very in-depth look at Wealthy Affiliate and shows what a robust platform it is for those seeking to build an online business or improve one they already have.
It certainly offers good education and support and is suitable for novices. There is a lot of information available and can feel overwhelming.
But it is good to keep in mind that this process can take a bit of time to grasp. Would you say you would need to commit for one year at least ?

I guess you already know Wealthy Affiliate and know what I am talking about here. It seems you are happy with the program your self and would also recommend it for newbies.
It is said a lot that it can be overwhelming but I think that is normal when entering a totally unknown matter.
I always say, take it easy, do one step after another and follow the lessons without jumping ahead.
It will definitely take time, a lot of time if you count the hours you need to work to get a website up and start selling products.
But again, I think this is normal in any sector. At least we don’t have to spend a lot of money upfront and buy a lot of things to open our online business.
Time should be something we can invest, if that is not the matter, the chances are low to get successful in this hard competition.

Thank you for this very detailed review of Wealthy Affiliate. I have been making money online since 2000/2001, mostly doing drop shipping on eBay as a Power Seller. However a few years ago I was looking for a way to create my own ecommerce drop shipping website, so I could bypass all of the eBay fees.
In the process of looking into this I came across online affiliate marketing and I really like the concept. Just like drop shipping, I do not need to buy, stock and ship products. However affiliate marketing is even better because I do not have to sell or deal directly with any of the customer service problems.
So then in my search for learning about affiliate marketing I came across a program called Affilorama but I did not like the cost, especially the upsells for higher training levels. Then I found Wealthy Affiliate through a review, though not as detailed as this, so I joined because I was able to do so for free and there was only one price for everything.
What I have found is that Wealthy Affiliate offers far more money making opportunities than just building an affiliate website. This training program is like an online university and the skills you learn here are sought after by any company large and small that has a website and online presence. These skills can be applied to freelance work.
I have taken my knowledge of keyword research, SEO and content creation, and found small companies who needed these services for their websites. I was able to make some good side money, about a few hundred dollars per month, which more than paid for my yearly membership to Wealthy Affiliate.
For anyone reading this, I highly recommend Wealthy Affiliate because you will learn more than you thought you ever could, even if you are not computer literate. This is because the training is designed for the complete beginner, and the help you can get from the community is absolutely AWESOME. A lot of money making opportunities here.

It is interesting to hear that you went from drop shipping to affiliate marketing. I must have made the right choice then by starting affiliate marketing right away.
I also like the fact that I have an absolute minimum of business running costs. No stock, no rent, and no employees. All I have to invest is in the WA monthly fee that I reduced to $30.00 per month.
OK, I invest a lot of time to this project but from nothing comes nothing.
I haven’t thought of using my skills helping other website operators optimizing their sites but I think this is a great idea to earn an extra dollar. At least in the first years until my own website starts earning a good income.
We could actually be website hosts for other people up to 25 websites per sign up or another 25 free websites. We could also monetize the free use of Jaaxy and sell keyword knowledge.
